A Resolution Regarding Endorsement of Spring 2010 Finance Committee Guidelines & Standards
1. WHEREAS, the Student Government Association (SGA) Finance Committee every year creates guidelines to use in assessing and allocating funds for all budgets of student groups; and,
2. WHEREAS, the SGA Legislature is responsible for approving the annual budget as recommended by the SGA Finance Committee; and,
3. WHEREAS, the SGA Legislature can keep the Finance Committee accountable by formally reviewing and endorsing the allocation guidelines;
4. WHEREAS, it is important for the SGA Legislature to know the criteria the Finance Committee will use in its deliberations; and,
5. WHEREAS, it is also important for student groups to know what criteria the Finance Committee will use in its deliberations so they can properly plan their budget applications; and,
6. WHEREAS, these guidelines are therefore placed in the semi-annual SGA Treasurer’s Manual distributed to every student group
7. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the SGA Legislature endorse the attached guidelines with the understanding that these guidelines will be used by the Finance Committee in deliberations for the allocation of the Student Activities Fee; and,
8. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Committee shall reserve the ability to create new guidelines or change and enhance the stated guidelines as needed during deliberations.
