Steve Glickman
Student Body President

Growing up in the suburbs of the blue-collar city of Buffalo, New York, Steve Glickman learned at a young age the hard work, dedication and unrelenting devotion it takes to make a difference in the community. Despite knowing just one person upon stepping foot on the campus of the University of Maryland, he immediately became involved in campus activities where he knew he could make a positive impact on the 25,000 undergraduates at this university.

As an SGA freshman legislator, Steve led the effort to create the Freshman Council, giving the freshman class a voice in important matters facing our university. As an active member of the BSOS Dean’s Student Advisory Council, Steve has worked hard in ensuring equitable funding for often-underfunded colleges. Steve also has interned in the Office of Congressman Thomas Reynolds (NY-26) and in the Office of Federal Relations on campus, learning the intricacies of both Annapolis and Washington, DC. In his free time, Steve enjoys golf, music, tennis, traveling and watching Terrell Owens and the Buffalo Bills. He hopes to purse a masters in public policy upon graduation.

He welcomes your comments, questions, and concerns. If you would like to meet with Steve, please send him an e-mail at SGApresident@umd.edu.

Charlotte Aldebron
Outlying Commuter

Hello, my name is Charlotte Aldebron and I am a sophomore Anthropology Major...and hopefully an Environment and Technology Major as well. More importantly, I am YOUR outlying commuter legislator. I am new to the SGA but I am very familiar with the problems commuters face since not only do I face them too, but I’m eager to solve them! Besides participating in SGA, I am an ESOL tutor and an activist.

Zach Cohen
Freshman

Zach is a freshman pursuing a double degree in government and politics and economics from the northern part of Baltimore County, Maryland, and is excited to represent the freshman class in the legislature. Before coming to the University of Maryland, Zach was very involved in both his school and local community, serving as editor in chief of the Towson High School Yearbook, serving on the executive board of the National Honor Society, and interning at the Maryland Office of the Public Defender. Zach is excited to start making a difference for the Freshman Class and the rest of the student body at the University of Maryland. Some of his proposals are to make the roommate assignment process more detailed, to increase the smoking perimeter around dorms and other university buildings, and to increase healthy options at the dining halls.

Drew Carroll
Neighboring Commuter

Drew hails from the rolling country hills in Cecil County, MD. He knows the needs and issues of transfer students as he recently transferred from Cecil College. That is why he is committing his appointed term to serving the under-represented transfer student community. When not working diligently on class and SGA assignments, Drew enjoys watching his mighty Philadelphia Eagles and DC United. He is also an active member of a fire company back in his hometown, where he is a certified firefighter and serves on the board of directors. Drew is excited to be a legislator as he aggressively attempts to reach out to his constituents and attentively work to answer their questions and resolve any issues.

Dylan Winslow
Neighboring Commuter

Dylan is a junior history major from Philadelphia Pa, serving as neighboring commuter legislator. He was appointed in November of last year. Dylan became involved with Sga last spring upon contributing to the Stand for BSOS campaign. As a neighboring commuter legislator, he is most interested in developing the non-greek off campus community, one that sadly gets consistently overlooked year after year. In addition to this, he interested with improving the perception of Sga campus wide, actively working on initiatives that will show concrete results to students and faculty alike. On a lighter note, Dylan is a die hard Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan ( he bleeds green and cherry red), thinks rubbing the head of Testudo for good luck is overrated, and has an above average perimeter jump shot. Please feel free to contact him by email or during office hours for any issues you have with the University.
